The Elements Feb 2017 chart colour codes the 4 elements to present an overview of their distribution on every day for the month.

The elements are sometimes called “the triplicities” because there are 3 zodiac signs per element.

The graphic ephemeris is a very useful visual tool for showing the luminaries and planets as they move through the signs and form aspects with each other.

The 45 degree graphic ephemeris is most commonly used to show the hard aspects (squares and oppositions, and also shows conjunctions, semi-sextiles and sesqui-squares.

Here the 30 degree ephemeris includes the so-called soft aspects (trines and sextiles), as well as the hard aspects (squares and oppositions, plus conjunctions and inconjuncts).

Lunar Phases
I have added a colour coding for the lunar phases. The lunar phases show the interactions between the luminaries. They are very useful for gardening and business projects.

Eclipses
The full Moon on February 11 is a lunar and the new Moon on February 26 is a solar eclipse.

The modes reflect the energy of the seasons: Cardinal is similar to Spring and shows the initial impetus or movement; fixed reflects the unchanging intensity of summer; and mutable reflects the ebb and flow in the change of seasons.

Below is a listing of the planets according to the modes: cardinal which is sometimes called moveable, fixed, and mutable.

Mutable is sometimes called ‘common’ because the energy shifts back and forth between the fixed and cardinal signs and has something in common with each.  The mutable signs (Sagittarius Pisces Gemini and Virgo) are also called ‘double-bodied signs’ because they contain 2 bodies or parts.
